The Bethlehem Eagles Wrestling Club serves as the official youth wrestling program for the Bethlehem school district, providing boys and girls in grades K–6 with the opportunity to learn, grow, and succeed in the sport of wrestling. The club is committed to building strong fundamentals, fostering a love for the sport, and developing athletes both on and off the mat. The coaches for the club have a vast knowledge and decades of experience in the sport of wrestling, including wrestling at the Division 1 level in college and competing nationally.
Wrestlers are placed into age- and skill-appropriate training groups to ensure proper instruction and development. Athletes in grades K–2 participate in our Novice/Beginner group, where the focus is on learning basic techniques, movement, and mat awareness in a positive and supportive environment. Wrestlers in grades 3–6 are placed in our Advanced group, where training becomes more competitive and skill-focused. These wrestlers compete in the Capital District Youth Wrestling League (CDYWL), facing other local programs and gaining valuable match experience.
The Eagles Wrestling Club is the foundation of both the boys' and girls' wrestling programs at Bethlehem. Our mission is to prepare young athletes for future success at the middle school and high school levels by instilling strong technical skills, discipline, teamwork, and confidence. The long-term growth and success of Bethlehem wrestling begins here.
Our program emphasizes high-quality technique instruction, structured drills, and purposeful training designed to meet wrestlers at their individual experience levels. Practices are conducted at a high intensity to prepare athletes for league competition, local tournaments, and potential post-season opportunities such as the NYWAY youth state championship tournament. While competition and improvement are important, we also prioritize creating a fun, encouraging, and respectful environment where every wrestler can grow, stay motivated, and enjoy the sport.
