Do you need to know what someone is doing while you are not with them?
Maybe your partner is not being as faithful and honest as you, a business associate might be trying to defraud you, an employee may be trying to mislead you, a claimant may not actually be as unwell as they state or perhaps someone you care about has started a habit that is going to be harmful to them. You need to be 100% certain before you take any action, but what if you are certain yet unable to prove it?
Before you can confront someone with whom you have a relationship, whether in business or your personal life, you must have all of the facts. If all other options have been exhausted, or are not practical, discreet surveillance can be the only way to find out what you need to know.

INVESTIGATE ABSENTEE EMPLOYEES
Do you have suspicions about one of your employees?
Illness and emergencies are unfortunate realities, and in such situations employees are encouraged to address them and take the necessary sick leave as nothing is more important than an individual’s well being. However, fraudulent employee absence is also a reality, and it is one that can have severe negative effects on the efficiency of an organization due to lost work hours and morale of coworkers.
Employees who engage in such deception have often done so for quite a while, and as a result, it can be difficult to discern whether their absences are legitimate or not. This is where skilled private investigators such as ours can be invaluable: planning a discreet and effective course of action and then executing it in order to identify illegitimate absences and nip them in the bud.
As an employer, one must always be acutely aware that accusing an employee of being absent illegitimately without proof is a recipe for disaster. Simply making such an accusation without evidence can put you in a position of having contravened his or her rights, and at the very least will negatively affect the employee/employer relationship. Further, if the employee is subsequently able to prove illness or another legitimate reason for the absence, this opens you up to all sorts of liabilities including costly and embarrassing litigation. Through years of experience, it is likely that when an employer’s suspicions are strong enough to warrant action there is some foundation to them. Our investigators provide both the evidence necessary to deal with an employee’s deception and protection from finding yourself in an unfavorable or actionable position.
Your dedicated investigator will first discuss the issue with you, going over the employee’s general history as well as the information pertinent to your suspicions. While recurrent employee absenteeism and prolonged absences can both be red flags, each can point to different behaviors in that unaccounted for time and will as such be approached differently by the investigator. For example, recurrent absences can be an indicator of ‘moonlighting,’ where the employee has found additional employment but is unwilling to give up his original position.
After a course of action has been established, our investigators will begin their inquiry acting with the utmost discretion. We understand that it is imperative that neither the employee nor any other party is aware of the investigation to preserve your relationship should the absence prove to be legitimate and to protect you from liability, legal or otherwise. In all cases, we will provide a full report of our findings and photographic/video evidence. Should a fraudulent claim by the employee be discovered, you will have the hard evidence necessary for dismissal.
Additionally, this will both assure your team that coworkers will not be allowed to saddle them with extra work and discourage employees from attempting similar acts of dishonesty. If the claim is proven to be legitimate, you can then take the necessary steps to manage staffing and spread workload evenly while the employee in question recovers. These investigations can also uncover deceptions of a less nefarious nature -- for example, an employee hiding a long term illness that made them unable to perform effectively. In such a case, a discussion can be begun where the truth is admitted and an agreement that is fair to both parties can be reached.
To ensure maximum productivity and profitability within your organization, fraudulent employee absenteeism and misconduct must be eradicated. Often considerably less than the day’s wages lost to the absent employee, an employee absence investigation by KENYA Private Investigators is your best bet for concluding such issues.
