If you want maximum illumination and a direct upgrade for your Harley or Indian motorcycle, choose Eagle Lights 8900BG3; if you need rugged protection for the front of your Honda Grom in tight spaces, choose GZYF Carbon Fiber LED. These two products solve completely different problems on two distinct platforms, yet both aim to improve your riding experience through specific design choices. I have analyzed the specifications and intended use cases to help you decide which one belongs on your bike.
• Eagle Lights 8900BG3: Delivers 3315 lumens of wide-angle projection for superior night visibility with a lifetime warranty, but it is a primary light source replacement requiring a compatible 5 3/4" headlight housing.
• GZYF Carbon Fiber LED: Offers high-strength plastic protection against road debris and adds aesthetic appeal to your Honda Grom, but it is an accessory cover that does not generate light itself.
• Best For: Choose Eagle Lights 8900BG3 if you are upgrading the lighting system on a Harley Davidson or Indian motorcycle for safety and performance.
• Best For: Choose GZYF Carbon Fiber LED if you own a 2016-2018 Honda Grom MSX125 and need to shield your existing headlight from damage in tight urban environments.
The Eagle Lights 8900BG3 is designed for riders who prioritize visibility above all else. This unit is not merely a bulb swap; it is a complete headlight assembly engineered for extreme performance. The core specification here is the lumen output of 3315, which represents a significant jump over standard stock units. What makes this particularly useful for night riding is the lens configuration. The product description notes that it features twice as many wide-angle projection lenses compared to previous generations. This isn't just about throwing a beam down the center of the road; it is about casting light to the sides where hazards like potholes, animals, or pedestrians might appear unexpectedly. If you ride on unlit country roads or poorly maintained highways, this wider spread is a genuine safety feature rather than a marketing gimmick.
Installation is another major factor for anyone considering this upgrade. The "Plug N' Play" architecture is a critical selling point because it removes the fear of complex wiring. Most users on forums worry about splicing wires or dealing with resistors when swapping out factory lights. This kit includes everything needed inside the housing, utilizing a standard 3-prong H4 connection that handles both high and low beams automatically. The manufacturer has built the necessary electronics into the unit, meaning you can remove the old assembly and drop this new one in without needing a mechanic. This simplicity appeals to riders who want immediate results without spending hours under the dashboard or modifying their bike's electrical system.

However, this product is strictly for specific motorcycles. It is a 5 3/4" unit, which fits most Harley Davidson and Indian models but will not fit a sportbike or a smaller street bike like the Honda Grom. You must verify your headlight size before purchasing. The design claims to place less strain on your battery than the stock headlight, delivering a "night and day difference" in brightness. If you are looking for a component that integrates seamlessly with your existing electrical load while providing DOT-approved safety standards, this is the solution. It is built to last, backed by a lifetime manufacturer warranty that suggests confidence in its durability.
The GZYF Carbon Fiber LED serves a very different purpose. It is not a light source but a protective shell designed specifically for the Honda Grom MSX125 model years 2016 through 2018. In the world of small-displacement motorcycles, the front end is often exposed and vulnerable. This product wraps around your existing headlight to provide a barrier against impact. The material is specified as high-strength plastic, chosen for its ability to withstand loads and pressures without cracking easily. It also offers excellent insulation and moisture resistance, which is crucial for protecting the delicate electronics inside the headlight assembly from rain, mud, and road grit.
Aesthetically, this cover adds a sense of design to the motorbike. The "carbon fiber" look provides a sleek, modern appearance that contrasts with the standard factory finish. This distinction matters because it explains the balance between weight and durability. This added mass is negligible for a lightweight bike like the Grom but substantial enough to absorb minor bumps or scrapes that would otherwise chip the original paint or crack the lens.
Who should buy this? It is ideal for riders who navigate tight spaces frequently, such as city commuters or track-day enthusiasts who slide or scrape their bikes. If you park in crowded areas or take corners aggressively on a short wheelbase machine, this cover acts as a sacrificial layer. However, there is a caveat regarding installation. This indicates that the fitment requires precision. If you are not comfortable removing body panels and aligning fairings, you may need to visit a shop. It is a functional accessory that keeps your headlight bright and clear in poor visibility by shielding it from dirt and impact, ensuring you maintain a clear field of view without replacing the entire lighting unit.
• Primary Function: Choose Eagle Lights 8900BG3 if you need to generate light; choose GZYF Carbon Fiber LED if you only need to protect existing light.
• Vehicle Compatibility: Eagle Lights fits Harley Davidson and Indian motorcycles with 5 3/4" housings; GZYF fits only Honda Grom MSX125 (2016-2018).
• Visibility Upgrade: Eagle Lights increases brightness to 3315 lumens with wide-angle projection; GZYF maintains your current light output while preventing obstruction from dirt or cracks.
• Safety Focus: Eagle Lights improves active safety by illuminating road edges; GZYF improves passive safety by preventing headlight failure from debris.
• Installation Effort: Eagle Lights offers a direct plug-and-play swap with no splicing; GZYF requires professional fairing installation due to lack of instructions.
• Durability: Eagle Lights comes with a lifetime warranty against manufacturing defects; GZYF relies on high-strength plastic to physically block impacts.
• Design Intent: Eagle Lights is an internal lighting revolution; GZYF is an external armor plating solution.
• Space Constraints: Both are compact, but GZYF is specifically noted for maintaining clearance and function in tight spaces where scraping is common.
In my opinion, the choice depends entirely on whether your problem is darkness or damage. If you are riding a Harley or Indian and struggling to see the side of the road at night, the Eagle Lights 8900BG3 is the only logical choice. Its wide-angle projection and high lumen output directly address safety concerns that cannot be solved by an accessory. However, if you are riding a Honda Grom and worry about knocking off your headlight in tight parking lots or tight corners, the GZYF Carbon Fiber LED is the smarter investment. It protects your asset without changing the bike's electrical profile. I would recommend the GZYF Carbon Fiber LED for those prioritizing durability in tight spaces, as it prevents costly repairs to the headlight assembly itself. Conversely, for pure performance and visibility, nothing beats the Eagle Lights upgrade.
