Program

Details: 

• The 4 courses (12 classes altogether: Bartos, Basciano, Sio and Wee) are compulsory (in order to receive the certificate), all other activities are optional.   

• The Guqin Workshop (16 June) will be given by  Lian-Hee Wee. The city tour will be right after the Guqin Workshop, led by Frantisek Kratochvil. 

• Seminar 1 (17 June): An Overview of Cantonese Sentence Final Particles  (Chaak Ming Lau)

• Seminar 2 (18 June): New Perspectives on the Subgrouping of Tibetic languages: A New Subgroup within the Eastern Branch (Daai-Syut Yeung)

• Seminar 3 (19 June): A practical introduction to Shuo Wen Jie Zi (David Uher and Tereza Slamenikova)

• Seminar 4 (20 June): Keywords of post-1989 intellectual discourse: metaphors of social change and intellectual choice in the "debate on the spirit of the humanities":(1993-1995) (Giorgio Strafella)

• Beer Garden (16 June)  will be at Bar Zahrada (self-paid). We have reserved a table there. You will be brought to the bar at the end of the city tour. 

• Picnic at the park (17 June) will be at Smetanovy sady (there is a bar opposite to get drinks/snacks, but you can also bring your own, so it is more "picnicky"). We will meet at this spot. 

• The movie screen (18 June) will be in room 2. 56 (tř. Svobody 26). It is a shared activity with the co-occuring Summer School "Navigating Geostrategic Dynamics in the Indo-Pacific: Focus on Taiwan"

• Vino Night (19 June) will be at Vinosfera. We have reserved a corner of the place just for us under the name 'Hagerova Alexandra' at 7:30pm. There are also non-alcoholic beverages there. It is a popular place with the locals. You get an empty glass and go around the place to tap your own wine. You then write down on a piece of paper how many glasses you have. It is a very trusting system.  A glass of wine ranges from 2-4 euros.  

• Dinner (20 June) will be at U Ptaka (covered by attendance fees, it would be a buffet, with meat/vegetarian (including vegan) dishes, as for drinks, it is 1+1:  everyone is entitled to ONE beer/wine/non-alcoholic drink plus ONE coffee/tea).
