Evolved Underwater Communications is a Stevens Institute of Technology Design VI team comprised of electrical engineering students with a worldwide background.

We are addressing the underwater wireless communication and data transfer issues of the modern diving era. Modern day divers find themselves resorting to hand signals, large and expensive tether cables, or data buoys that are allowed to float to the surface and pose an obstacle and entanglement hazard. High-speed and reliable data transmission underwater is seen by the group as a challenge worth their collective skills.

Specifically, we are developing new solutions based on optical strobe transmission.
