Ocean Basins

About Our Ocean

In our world, we only have ONE ocean. Everything we do, affects everyone and everything that has to deal with our ocean: pollution, hunting, etc.

Around our world, there are a total of 5 major ocean basins. There is:

  • The Pacific (largest)

  • The Atlantic (25% of ocean water)

  • The Indian (middle of ocean basins)

  • The Arctic (smallest/shallowest)

  • The Antarctic

The ocean also has multiple layers to it:

  • Hadal zone (only exists in trenches)

  • Abyss zone

  • Midnight zone

  • Twilight zone

  • Sunlight zone

We discovered that our ocean floors were not as flat as we thought them out to be, and mountains as big as Mt. Everest were beneath the surface, along with volcanoes, trenches, cliffs, etc.
