The Mice gods eat the cheese. During the waning phase of the moon, the mice are eating the moon. Upon the New Moon, there is no moon because the mice ate it. Therefore the moon must be rebuilt, but they need a sacrifice. The sacrifice is cheese, any cheese except Swiss. Swiss cheese has holes so more holes = less cheese. You sacrifice the cheese by throwing it out of a window. It can be any amount. In return, you are rewarded by the mice gods answering your prayers and granting you blessings. If you do not make a sacrifice you will suffer the wrath of the gods, unless you make an offering to the mouse god Minide, the god of wrath. This offering is most commonly a piece of cheese, set outside. If you can make a sacrifice, but can not throw it out of a window, just throw it anywhere. Before throwing it you must specify it is a sacrifice, usually by saying it to Fenaj, the god of sacrifices. The mice gods will reconstruct the moon with this cheese throughout the waxing phase. During this period, many gods will reside on earth, as the work is only done by some of the gods and many servant rats. These servants, not being gods themselves, will need to wear some sort of space suit to face the vacuum of space. Rats are not limited to being only servants, rather some act as soldiers, chefs, entertainers, etcetera. When the reconstruction is done, the moon is full. The mice gods will soon begin their feast. But first, they require one last sacrifice. This may be one of two things: Milk, or a Cow. As is done with cheese, these should also be tossed out of a window. If one cannot fit a cow through their window, they may sacrifice it more traditionally by slaughtering it. One ought not to proceed to throw the cow carcass out of the window, as this is regarded as disrespectful and foolish. It is said that the cow jumped over the moon. This is the cow ascending to the afterlife, gifting its milk to the mice gods while on its journey. If one does not have a cow, this is why the option of sacrificing milk exists. It should be mentioned that any form of milk will do, so long as it has milk in the name or could be used in cereal. For their sacrifice, one will find themselves with good fortune. However if one refrains from making a sacrifice during or within three days after a full moon, they will meet the fury of the mouse god Minide. With the passing of the full moon, our mice lords commence their feast. This joyous cycle of the creation and destruction of the moon is endless. The practice of abstaining from cheese and unordinary foodstuffs during the waxing phase of the moon is highly respected. During the waning phase of the moon, it is acceptable to have unnatural foods, and to live more frivolously in general, enjoying life more fully.
