Born in Balaguer (Spain). MS in Physics, MS in Mathematics, PhD in Physics from Barcelona University, with "Summa Cum Laude" and two Extraordinary Honor Awards. Humboldt Fellow in Hamburg and Berlin, and SEP Fellow in Japan. Visiting Scholar/Research Contracts at Hamburg U, PennState U, Trondheim NTNU, the KEK, Hiroshima U, Jena U, Leipzig U, the NTZ, the MIT, Harvard U, and Trento U. Professor of Mathematics and Physics at Tarrega and Bellvitge Colleges, and Barcelona University for over twenty years. Since 1993 a member of the National Higher Research Council of Spain (CSIC), where he is a Senior Research Professor and Principal Investigator of various projects—including a top rated Consolider (group project)—and team leader of both a Consolider-Ingenio 2010 (CPAN) and a European Union project CASIMIR). Has been awarded an Honorary Professorship from Tomsk TSPU University (2010), Russia. He is also a recipient of the Gold Medal of TSPU University and of a Certificate in Recognition of Extraordinary Services (2018). Honorary Appointment from TUSUR University, Russia (2017). Two prestigious Invitational Fellowships of the Japan Government for Excellent Researchers (2016, 2017), and four Distinctions of Merit from the National Higher Research Council of Spain (2013, 2016, 2018, 2019). Awarded an Honorary Professorship from TUSUR University, Russia (2020). Distinguished as Professor Ad Honorem by the National Higher Research Council of Spain (2020).
