In school year 1998 – 1999, the Department of Education, Culture and Sports (DECS) approved the nationalization of Doña Hortencia Salas Benedicto NHS - La Granja Extension. Concurrently, La Granja NHS – Yubo Extension opened at Yubo Elementary School campus, and started to serve forty-nine freshmen composed of twenty-four males, and twenty-five females merged in one class. The three pioneering faculty members. The school is currently served by nine permanent junior high school teachers, six permanent senior high school teachers, two locally-funded faculty members, one administrative assistant, and two support staff particularly for the school maintenance, order and security. The school currently offers complete Junior High School (JHS) classes from Grade 7 to 10 and Academic Track - Humanities and Social Sciences (HUMSS) Strand for Senior High School (SHS).
