Privacy Policy — CicadaShaker
Last updated: June 15, 2026
CicadaShaker is developed by Dzmitry Stsepankou ("we", "the developer"). This
policy explains how the app handles your information. Short version:
CicadaShaker does not collect, store, or share any personal data.
Information we collect: None. The app has no accounts, no sign-in, and no
analytics or advertising SDKs. We do not collect names, email addresses,
location, contacts, files, or device identifiers, and we do not record audio
(the app only plays sound).
Network use: CicadaShaker can synchronize tempo and beat with other music apps
and devices on your local network using Ableton Link. This communication stays
on your local network between your own devices; it is not sent to us or to any
third-party server, and it contains only musical timing information (tempo and
beat position) — no personal data. The app does not use the internet for any
other purpose: it has no servers, no accounts, and no analytics.
Permissions and why they're used:
- Network / Wi-Fi state & Wi-Fi multicast — to discover and sync with Ableton
Link peers on your local network.
- Internet & network-state access — required by Android to open the local
network connections Ableton Link uses. CicadaShaker does not send any of your
data over the internet.
- Foreground service + notification — to keep the metronome playing reliably
while the app is in the background; the notification shows that audio is
active.
Data sharing: We do not share data with anyone, because we do not collect any.
Children's privacy: The app is suitable for all ages and collects no data from
anyone, including children.
Changes: If this policy changes, we will update this page and the "Last
updated" date.
