Dynamic Young Women Empowerment and Development Initiative (DYWEDI) is a nonprofit, non-governmental, youth-led civil society organisation dedicated to activating young women’s voices to drive peace, social inclusion, and community transformation.
Founded on the belief that the leadership, voice, and inclusion of young women are essential to sustainable development. DYWEDI recognises that building a gender-just and peaceful society begins by embracing the power, creativity, and leadership of young women, not in isolation, but in collaboration with the communities they are part of.
At DYWEDI, we champion dynamic participation in gender justice, digital safety, and civic transformation - empowering young voices to lead meaningful change.
Our programming brings global issues such as gender justice, inclusive governance, and digital safety into local conversations, while elevating grassroots realities to national and international policy platforms.
To activate the voices and empower a new generation of young women who play an active role in advancing gender equity and sustainable peace.
A peaceful and equitable society powered by social inclusion.
Across Nigeria and beyond, young women continue to face systemic exclusion, gender-based violence, and deeply rooted cultural and institutional barriers. From online spaces to public institutions, their voices are often marginalized or silenced.
At DYWEDI, we believe in changing that narrative.
Through the Empowering Voices Against Digitally Facilitated Gender-Based Violence (DFGBV) project, we are building a movement. We’ve raised awareness, strengthened digital resilience, and equipped young women with the knowledge and tools to recognize, resist, and speak out against gender-based violence in digital spaces.
This initiative is targeted at reclaiming digital spaces, fostering peer-led support, and amplifying the voices of young people who are ready to lead change.
