Experience the internet as a person with dyslexia
With this 'bookmarklet' you can experience any website as a person with dyslexia would. Of course, this is a simplification of reality and only a partial simulation of dyslexia. The main goal of this tool is to increase awareness and empathy. We want to make you understand which challenges people with dyslexia are facing and highlight the loss of potential talent if we do not take this into account.

Use the button on any website to 'dyslexify' that website.
This tool was developed in the context of the City of People project in the city of Ghent, Belgium. This is a project which aims to tackle societal problems by developing innovative technologies. To shape these solutions, we work closely together with city inhabitants that are facing these problems.
So far, the project focused on two challenges. In the first cycle, we developed Hello Jenny, a smart speaker that allows senior citizens to ask for a visit in a simple and accessible way. The second cycle explored solutions for people with dyslexia and/or dyscalculia, with a specific focus on the transition from an education context to a working environment.
