You can deploy Dynamics 365 Finance + Operations (on-premises). When you choose an on-premises deployment type, the system requirements, hardware sizing, and functionality differ from a cloud deployment. This article provides links to content that contains information specific to on-premises deployments.

I am trying to convince my organisation to extend our D365 functionality with Power Apps. We have an on-premise D365 CE installation and my initial research indicates there might be limitations with creating records via Power Apps to on-premise CRM. However, all the online blogs I have found on this subject are from about two years ago? I am hoping there has been a resolution.

there is no standard connector for d365 on premise. You can use on prem data gateway and read the data from your SQL data, but to write/edit data you would need to create a custom connector, which definitely can be done using the IFD web service.

I just want to ask, can softphone be implemented in Microsoft Dynamics 365 on premise?

I just found reference how to integrate softphone with CRM: -us/dynamics365/sales-enterprise/sample-softphone-integration

Hey, sorry for the delayed response, but I wanted to chime in on the topic of integrating a softphone with Dynamics 365 on-premise. While I can't speak specifically about Dynamics 365, I suggest checking out the documentation provided by Microsoft that you shared. It seems like a good starting point for integrating a softphone with CRM.

Yes it can achievable using other ISV providers to integrate with D365 on premise for soft phone. but support from Dynamics 365 will be limited and ISV provider will help on the complete setup and configuration.

I have added the SQL Server as a data source without issue. When I try to add Dynamics 365 (online) though I have to use a Web data source type as the OData data source type doesn't work - OAuth2 ins't an option, the credentials don't work if I use Basic and the URL isn't recognised if I use Windows. I'm not sure how important this is...

In theory this should work, I have built a bunch of models that mix on-prem and cloud data sources. Not sure of what you are seeing specifically though. Unless I am totally losing it, but I'm pretty certain that I have built CRM Online dashboards that mash-up on-premises data but I will have to go back and check. I do know that I was having some issues with refreshing my CRM Online dashboard due to OAuth2 issues, that's in another thread somewhere.

I'm trying to programatically obtain data out of our Dynamics CRM instance, using a single set of admin credentials within a Node powered Express app. This Express app is hosted on a separate server outside of our network where CRM is hosted. The app will then request, process and serve CRM data back to any logged in user who has access (controlled by roles/permissions within the app), meaning an end user only has to login into the Express app, and not have to also login via ADFS in order for the app to access the CRM instance. 152ee80cbc
