Dynamic Notch: Notify Island

Effective date: September 17, 2026

Last updated: September 17, 2026

This Privacy Policy explains how Dynamic Notch: Notify Island ("the App," "we," "us," or "our") handles information when you use the App. We built the App to run as much as possible on your device, and this policy describes exactly what that means in practice.

By installing or using the App, you agree to the practices described in this Privacy Policy. If you do not agree, please do not use the App.

1. Who We Are

Dynamic Notch: Notify Island is developed by Vision Apps Technologies ("we," "us"). If you have questions about this policy or the App's data practices, see the Contact Us section (Section 12) below.

2. Summary

3. Information We Collect

3.1 Information you provide directly

The App does not require registration, an account, or a profile. We do not collect your name, email address, or phone number through the App itself, unless you voluntarily provide it by contacting us for support (see Section 12).

3.2 Information accessed to provide the App's features

To display notifications, music, call, headset, and battery information inside the notch, the App accesses the following categories of information on your device:

Category What it includes Why it's accessed

Notification content, Call status, Media/playback metadata, Headset/Bluetooth connection state, Battery status and App selection settings.

This information is read and rendered locally on your device for the sole purpose of displaying it in the notch overlay. We do not transmit this content to our servers, and we do not have a backend that stores it.

3.3 Automatically collected technical information

3.4 Information we do not collect

We do not collect, read, or store:

4. How We Use Information

We use the information described in Section 3 solely to:

We do not use this information to build advertising profiles beyond what a declared ad SDK does on its own (see Section 7), and we do not sell notification, call, music, headset, or battery data to anyone.

5. Permissions We Request, and Why

Google Play requires apps that use Accessibility Service to clearly explain what it's used for. Here is a complete account of every sensitive permission the App requests:

Accessibility Service

Used for: detecting on-screen events needed to display and manage the notch popup — for example, recognizing when a call is active so the floating call UI can be shown and dismissed at the right time.

Not used for: reading or transmitting content from other apps unrelated to the notch's declared features (notifications, calls, music, headset, battery). We do not use Accessibility Service to capture keystrokes, passwords, form entries, or screen content outside of what's needed for these features.

Data handling: everything Accessibility Service observes for this purpose stays on your device and is used only to render the overlay in real time. It is not uploaded to us.

You can review or revoke this permission at any time in Android Settings → Accessibility. Revoking it will disable the notch overlay but will not affect the rest of your device.

Notification Access

Used for: reading the notifications posted by other apps so their content can be mirrored into the notch popup.

Data handling: processed on-device only, for display purposes. Not transmitted to us or any third party.

You can review or revoke this permission at any time in Android Settings → Apps → Special app access → Notification access.

Phone (call state)

Used for: detecting incoming and active calls so call alerts and controls can appear in the notch.

Data handling: we do not record calls or access call audio. Caller display name is shown in the overlay only, on-device.

Battery Optimization exemption

Used for: allowing the App's background service to keep running reliably so the notch stays available and battery status stays current, even when your screen is off or the App isn't in the foreground.

Data handling: this permission does not itself expose any additional personal data; it only affects whether Android is allowed to suspend the App's background process.

6. Data Storage, Retention, and Security

Where data lives: notification, call, music, headset, and battery information handled by the App is processed in memory on your device to render the notch and is not written to a remote database we control.

Local settings: your preferences (selected apps, theme, position, auto-hide timers, etc.) are stored locally on your device so they persist between sessions. Uninstalling the App removes this local data.

Retention: because we do not operate a server-side store of your notification/call/music content, there is nothing for us to retain or delete on our end. If analytics or crash-reporting are enabled, that data is retained according to the relevant provider's policy (see Section 7).

Security: we rely on Android's platform-level app sandboxing and permission model to protect the information the App processes. No method of electronic processing is 100% secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security, but we do not introduce a network transmission path for the sensitive content described in Section 3.2.

7. Third-Party Services

7.1 Advertising

If the App displays ads, they are served through third-party ad networks such as [e.g., Google AdMob]. These networks may collect the advertising identifier (Android Advertising ID), device information, and approximate location (if permitted) to serve and measure ads. This collection is governed by the ad network's own privacy policy, which we encourage you to review:

Google AdMob: https://policies.google.com/privacy

You can opt out of personalized advertising through your device's ad settings at Android Settings → Google → Ads.

7.2 Analytics and Crash Reporting

If enabled, the App may use a service such as [e.g., Firebase Crashlytics / Google Analytics for Firebase] to understand crash patterns and general feature usage. This data is aggregated and is not linked to notification, call, or message content.

7.3 In-App Purchases

If the App offers in-app purchases or a premium upgrade, payment is processed entirely by Google Play Billing. We do not receive or store your payment card details; Google's privacy policy governs that transaction: https://policies.google.com/privacy

7.4 No sale of personal information

We do not sell, rent, or trade your personal information to third parties for their own marketing purposes.

8. Children's Privacy

Dynamic Notch: Notify Island is not directed at children under the age of 13 (or the equivalent minimum age in your jurisdiction), and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children. If you believe a child has provided us with personal information, please contact us using the details in Section 12 and we will take appropriate steps to remove it.

9. Your Rights and Choices

9.1 All users

Revoke permissions at any time through Android Settings, as described in Section 5. This may disable some or all notch features but will not affect the rest of your device.

Uninstall the App at any time, which removes locally stored preferences.

Control which apps appear in the notch through the App's own settings.

9.2 European Economic Area (EEA), UK, and Switzerland users (GDPR)

If you are located in the EEA, UK, or Switzerland, you have the right to:

Access the personal information we hold about you

Request correction of inaccurate information

Request deletion of your information

Object to or restrict certain processing

Request portability of your information, where applicable

Lodge a complaint with your local data protection authority

Because the App does not operate a server-side account system, most of these rights are exercised directly on your device (see 9.1). For anything else, contact us using the details in Section 12.

9.3 California users (CCPA/CPRA)

If you are a California resident, you have the right to know what personal information is collected, to request deletion, and to opt out of the “sale” or “sharing” of personal information. We do not sell or share personal information as defined under the CCPA/CPRA. To exercise any other rights, contact us using the details in Section 12.

9.4 Other jurisdictions

If your local law grants you similar rights not listed above, contact us and we will do our best to accommodate your request consistent with applicable law.

10. International Data Transfers

Because the information described in Section 3.2 is processed on-device and not transmitted to our servers, there is generally no cross-border transfer of that content by us. Where third-party services in Section 7 are enabled, those providers may process data in other countries in accordance with their own privacy policies and applicable safeguards.

11. Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time, for example to reflect new features or legal requirements. Material changes will be reflected by updating the "Last updated" date above. We encourage you to review this page periodically. Continued use of the App after changes take effect constitutes acceptance of the revised policy.
