This project aims to provide an analysis of the macro and financial indicators of the Greek economy using data from the Greece in numbers. We concentrate on credit and leverage analysis and then proceed to provide insight into sectoral imbalances by focusing on financial accounts of the main creditors, households and firms. Furthermore, we examine the banking system, to understand how such issues, combined with structural weaknesses resulted in high leverage and excess liquidity.
