The psychological skills and knowledge I have gained throughout my academic experience at SNHU have greatly enhanced my ability to successfully perform in professional environments. For instance, I have gained a much deeper understanding of developmental milestones, behavioral interventions, and evidence-based strategies for supporting diverse populations and with this knowledge, I have been able to directly apply my understanding of attachment theory, behavioral reinforcement, and socio-emotional development to create more supportive and growth-oriented environments. My learning has additionally fostered a professional mindset through the various discussions, reflective assignments, and research projects I have completed at SNHU. Specifically, in my research projects regarding Screen Dependency Disorder in Adolescents as well as the effects of smartphone use on cognitive functioning, I learned how to critically analyze peer-reviewed literature, effectively evaluate data, and connect theoretical frameworks to real-world applications. The soft skills that I have both gained and enhanced throughout my academic journey are my adaptability, strong work ethic, and effective communication and problem-solving skills. These skills prepare me to thrive in rapidly changing environments that require conflict resolution, strong interpersonal skills, and a high emotional intelligence.Â
The research and studies I share here are organized into key themes that reflect the core values of my academic journey: Career Connections, Ethics, Emotional Intelligence, Social Justice, and Self-Care.
