In both Oceanography and Geology, I only missed two days in both classes, so I would say I was in class about ninety percent of the time. While I was in class, I felt like I was actively participating in whatever it was that we were doing. I never really talked to other students unless they initiated the interaction. As a percentage, I would say I was participating one hundred percent of the time I was in class. Outside of class, on average I spent about two additional hours on both classes, totaling four extra hours on both Geology and Oceanography combined. I felt like I was constantly interacting with Dr. Cooper, whether I had questions about the material or if I had some random physics question, I was constantly asking Dr. Cooper something. I feel like my participation in class, as well as my interactions with Dr. Cooper, has greatly affected my understanding of the material and my growth in the class. While I may not be an expert in all the topics, I feel I have a very good grasp on the concepts covered in class.
In Geology, I have completed every practice assignment, and have received a completion mark on all of them except for the work day, which was a day I had missed class. In Oceanography, I have received a completion mark on all assignments except for two that I did not do yet at the time of writing this reflection. Mostly all of the assignments were submitted on time, or at least within a week of when we first started them. I think my participation with the practice assignments greatly impacted my knowledge, as many of them covered aspects of topics that I needed a better understanding of.
I believe I submitted my ePortfolio link within a day or two after we had received the assignment. As of writing this, I have only submitted a few objectives as these are the ones I feel the strongest with, but as for the others, I would like to spend a bit more time on them to make sure they cover everything needed. Within the last three weeks, I have completed all of the objectives, some had been done for a while, but I just never submitted them. Looking back, I would have liked to have submitted my objectives earlier, I think a big reason as to why I did not was because I was overthinking on what exactly to do for them. This is the first time I have ever had to do something like this for a class, so it seemingly caught me off guard more than I was expecting it to.
I was most proud of completing my teaching projects, especially since I did them on my own. It was hard to make sure everything was covered, but I am proud of how they turned out overall. I would change when I submitted the evidence for the ePortfolio, I really was unsure of what exactly to do for the evidence, and I would have liked to spend more time on it. I feel like I am sitting comfortably between an 88% and 93% in Oceanography while in Geology, I feel like I am at a 95%in terms of a grade for the class, based on my understanding in both classes. I feel like this is close to what Dr. Cooper would also say, but I am not entirely sure. I feel like I have accomplished the objectives and understand them well, but I am unsure of what grade I would actually achieve in the class.
