I am a writer, storyteller, content strategist and an educator who's endlessly fascinated by the power of the written word.
Currently
I'm a writer and content strategist at Durham Academy, a prestigious independent school in North Carolina, where I write a weekly online story about school life and several feature stories each year for the school's annual magazine.
I also serve as an adjunct instructor at the UNC Hussman School of Journalism and Media: I teach a foundational course in writing and reporting, which is required of all undergraduates as they embark on a major or minor in journalism/media.
Previously
I worked as an eighth-grade science teacher and eighth-grade team lead at a charter school in East Durham, North Carolina.
Before that, I was a full-time Olympics researcher with NBC Sports for the lead-up to — and broadcast of — the 2016 Rio Olympic Games and 2016 Rio Paralympic Games.
I have also interned at Sports Illustrated.
