Research

Our research is at the forefront of advancing quantum technologies with a focus on leveraging diamond NV (Nitrogen-Vacancy) centers. These unique defects in diamond crystals serve as an extraordinary platform for pioneering breakthroughs in quantum computing and quantum communication.

At the heart of our investigations is the development of problem-solving quantum computing systems. By harnessing the electronic and nuclear spins of diamond NV centers, we construct multi-qubit systems capable of performing quantum information operations to address real-world challenges. Our exploration extends to understanding and controlling solid-state decoherence phenomena associated with diamond quantum systems.

In addition, we delve into the realm of quantum relay technology, utilizing diamond NV centers to implement quantum entanglement between spin qubits and single photons. Our research aims to push the boundaries of quantum communication through the implementation of quantum teleportation technology, connecting distant diamond NV center nodes.

Importantly, most of the research projects are performed as a joint-research team with Dr. Seungwoo Jeon, Dr. Chulki Kim, Dr. Jeonghyun Lee, and Dr. Sangwook Han.
