Umpiring Duties

Umpires must wear the league issued shirt and hat to assigned games.

If you are NOT able to work an assigned game, please email the Umpire Coordinator at dybumpires@gmail.com at least 48 hours in advance. The Umpire Coordinator will update the schedule with changes and openings. 

Umpires are to be paid by the home team coach prior to the game. 

For Minors and Majors, umpires will earn $30/game as part of a crew (typically there are two umpires for each game). Umpires will earn $50/game if the DYB umpire works the game alone. 

In the event of a game being canceled prior to the start of the game but after the umpires have arrived they are to be paid half of their fee. 

Once a game has begun the umpires will keep the full amount if the game is called due to weather. 

Umpires will be paid the full amount for forfeited games.
