Welcome to the World of Languages!
¡Bienvenidos! I’m Eric Lopez, a member of the World Language Team at Dutch Fork Middle School, Lexington-Richland School District Five (LexRich5). I teach Spanish Exploratory for Grade 6, Spanish Prep for Grades 7 and 8, and Spanish 1 for Grade 8.
I began my teaching career in 2006 and have spent most of my career teaching in Rhode Island. I hold a Master’s degree in Education and K–12 teaching certifications in French and Spanish.
Originally from Senegal, with family roots in Cape Verde, I bring a multicultural and multilingual perspective to my classroom. I speak French, Spanish, English, Cape Verdean Creole, and Wolof. I completed my undergraduate studies in French and Spanish at the University of West Georgia and earned my Master’s in Education from the University of Rhode Island.
My goal is to create a classroom where students feel comfortable exploring a new language, discovering different cultures, making mistakes, asking questions, and growing as confident communicators.
I look forward to a wonderful year of learning together! If you have any questions, ideas, or concerns, please feel free to contact me at elopez@lexRich.org.
