Dustin Martin is possibly the best footballer of the modern generation, throughout his career he has made many achievements including 3x premierships, 3x norm smith medals, 1x Brownlow medal, 4x all Australian and 2x club best and fairest. throughout Dusty's road to success he has had many challenges and roadblocks along the way, but due to his dedication and love for the sport he didn't let that stop him.
as of a young age dusty always loved to play football, playing for Castlemaine as his junior team and then as he got older he played for the Bendigo pioneers in the TAC cup. he grew up with his mother Kathy who is Australian and his father Shane who is Māori and is from new Zealand. in 2016 Dustys father got deported from Australia due to his associations with bikie gangs. in 2009 he was drafted to the Richmond tigers as the 3rd overall pick in the AFL draft. in 2017 the Richmond dynasty began, where dusty won his one and only Brownlow and first of 3 norm smith medals. with dustys dedication and determination he made all of this possible. a few of his peers were asked about his mindset "he is one of the most dedicated people I've met, and is always eager for anything" said Damian Hardwick, dusty is always the first to training and last out which shows his amazing commitment. a few of his peers were asked about his personality and attitude "he's just a very quiet and humble bloke just trying to play footy" said Trent Cotchin one of Dustys former teammates.
