Before the creation of Earth, God created Heaven and within it, He brought forth archangels, angels, and cherubs. Among the archangels was Lucifer, the most radiant and perfect of them all. He was a being of unparalleled beauty, intelligence, and power, a reflection of divine glory itself. Yet, it was this very perfection that would lead to his downfall. Lucifer’s brilliance filled him with pride, and he began to see himself as superior to all others. His vanity and arrogance grew until he believed that he alone deserved to sit upon God’s throne. Thus, the first sin—pride—was born, and it would echo across eternity.
Corrupted by his own hubris, Lucifer’s perfection was spoiled, and he began to sow rebellion in Heaven. His charisma and cunning drew a third of the angels to his side, promising them liberation from servitude and a new order where he would reign supreme. The rebellion culminated in war—a celestial conflict that shook the very foundations of Heaven. However, Lucifer had underestimated the resistance he would face, particularly from his brother, Michael, the Archangel of Justice, who led God’s loyal forces.
As the war raged on, Lucifer’s confidence began to waver. Realizing he could not defeat Michael in his current form, he transformed into a massive dragon, a terrifying embodiment of his corrupted spirit. Yet even in this monstrous state, he could not prevail. Michael, wielding the power of Heaven, struck him down. Defeated and humiliated, Lucifer and his followers were cast out of Heaven, banished to the fiery depths of Hell. Stripped of his former glory, Lucifer became known as Satan—the adversary—and the Devil, the symbol of all evil.
Once the most perfect being God had ever created, Lucifer now found himself powerless, trapped in the abyss. But his pride was unbroken, and his desire for revenge burned brighter than ever. Unable to challenge God directly, he turned his attention to God’s newest and most cherished creation: humankind. When God placed Adam and Eve in the Garden of Eden and forbade them from eating the fruit of the Tree of Knowledge, Lucifer saw the perfect opportunity to strike back. Taking the form of a serpent, he whispered sweet lies into Eve’s ear, persuading her to defy God’s command. When Adam and Eve ate the forbidden fruit, sin entered the world, and Lucifer claimed his first victory against his Creator.
From that moment on, Lucifer dedicated himself to corrupting humanity. Ruling over Hell, he became the tormentor of the damned, delighting in their eternal suffering as an act of defiance against God. To him, every sinful soul that entered his domain was a triumph. He became synonymous with everything dark and evil, the shadowy figure blamed for plagues, famine, and war. Throughout history, he was seen as the mastermind behind witchcraft, heresy, and countless atrocities. During the Salem witch trials, he was feared as the force that possessed innocents and led them astray.
For a time, Lucifer seemed to fade into the background, but by the 1980s and 1990s, his influence returned to cultural prominence through the rise of satanic churches, rituals, and even the rock and heavy metal music scenes, which many claimed were tools he used to seduce the masses. And in the modern age, Lucifer continues to thrive, finding it easier than ever to corrupt humanity. Where once people needed to be tempted, now they willingly embrace sin, guided by their own desires.
Despite being known as Satan or the Devil, Lucifer still prefers his original name—it reminds him of the glory he once had. That said, he takes pride in all his titles, as long as humanity remembers who he is. Nowadays, he often walks among humans, enjoying the chaos he sows and relishing the blame placed upon him for all things dark and evil. He finds particular amusement in exorcisms and hauntings, moments when humanity’s fear of him reinforces his power. If he cannot replace God, he is content to make God’s beloved creation suffer.
Though he lost the war for Heaven, Lucifer has found victory in the corruption of Earth. He remains proud of his achievements, and with every faltering soul, his vengeance grows. For the once-morning star, revenge is no longer a goal—it is a way of being, and business is booming.
