Founder & Director | Senior Acupuncturist | PgDipHSc (Pain Management)
At Duplex Allied Health, Vivian Wang operates under a singular philosophy: there is no such thing as a "one-size-fits-all" treatment.
With over 10 years of clinical experience in New Zealand, Vivian is a distinguished leader in the field of integrated medicine. Her expertise is built upon a formidable academic foundation, holding a Postgraduate Diploma of Health Science in Pain and Pain Management from the University of Otago, alongside a Bachelor of Medicine majoring in Traditional Chinese Medicine (TCM) from Hubei University of Chinese Medicine.
Vivian is renowned for her highly individualized and custom-tailored approach. She refuses to use generic templates, believing that every patient’s constitution, lifestyle, and history require a unique blueprint for healing. In Vivian’s clinic, every needle placement and herbal formulation is meticulously adjusted to the person in front of her. It is this commitment to ultimate care and precision that results in her exceptionally high success rate—it is rare for a case under her care not to see a significant, positive effect.
Vivian’s reputation is cemented by her role as a board member for Acupuncture NZ (ACNZ), the World Federation of Acupuncture-Moxibustion Societies (WFAS), and the International Federation of Health and Industry Alliance (IFHIA). Beyond her titles as a board member and former lecturer, her true impact is seen in her clinical results:
Pain Reversal: Successfully treated a patient with femoral head necrosis and severe limping, restoring normal walking ability in just 4 sessions.
Chronic Relief: Helped a young girl suffering from debilitating migraines for 10 years achieve a pain-free life after 12 sessions.
Maternal Support: Guided a 39-year-old expectant mother through a healthy pregnancy and toward a painless delivery using specialized acupuncture protocols.
Neurodiversity & Wellbeing: Provided significant relief for teenagers with ADHD, with patients reporting a profound sense of mental clarity and "lightness" following treatment.
Specializing in stubborn pain, women’s health, and adolescent mental wellbeing, Vivian combines the rigor of university-level research with the intuitive wisdom of TCM. She is dedicated to being the last stop on your journey to wellness, providing the professional expertise and clinical experience necessary to safeguard the health of you and your family.
With 19 years of clinical experience, I am a UK-trained osteopath who has worked internationally across Scotland, the Cayman Islands, Singapore, and now New Zealand, which I proudly call home.
My background in personal training and sports massage has strongly influenced my clinical approach. I have a particular interest in sports injuries, developed during my time working at Gleneagles Hotel in Scotland, where I regularly treated golfers and athletes. This experience gave me a practical, results-driven understanding of how to manage performance-related injuries effectively.
I take a straightforward, no-nonsense approach to treatment. I value honest communication and focus on what matters most: reducing pain and improving function. There is no unnecessary complexity—just clear, tailored care designed to help you move and feel better.
Osteopathy is a hands-on, evidence-informed approach to healthcare that focuses on the relationship between the structure and function of the body. It recognises the body’s ability to heal and adapt, and treatment is aimed at supporting that process. This may include manual techniques such as stretching, joint articulation, and soft tissue work, alongside practical advice to support recovery and long-term health.
I completed my osteopathic training in London through a five-year part-time degree programme in the UK. I am registered with the Osteopathic Council of New Zealand and committed to providing safe, professional, and evidence-based care.
I work with a wide range of patients, supporting conditions such as back and neck pain, joint and muscle injuries, headaches, sports injuries, postural strain, pregnancy-related discomfort, and recovery following trauma. My focus is always on helping you return to normal function as efficiently as possible.
Outside of work, I enjoy spending time with my family and following sport. As a London native, I am a loyal Arsenal supporter, and I also follow Formula One and rugby league—now backing the Warriors here in New Zealand.
