Duora Privacy Policy

This privacy policy applies to the Duora app (hereby referred to as the "Application") created by YAVUZ KAAN AKYUZ (hereby referred to as the "Service Provider") as a free service. The Application is provided "AS IS."

Information Collection and Use

Duora is designed to be private by default. The Application itself does not collect, store, or transmit personal data or usage analytics to the Service Provider. The Service Provider does not operate any servers that receive your data, and does not track your activity.

Most functionality, including AI chat, the voice assistant, and document reading, runs entirely on your device using on-device processing. In these cases, no information leaves your device.

However, certain optional features require a network connection and will send limited data to third parties only when you actively use them, as described in "Optional Features That Use the Network" below.

The Service Provider does not collect:

• IP address

• Device identifiers

• Usage analytics (pages visited, time spent, interactions, etc.)

• Location data (approximate or precise)

• Contacts, photos, files, or any other personal information

• Any form of personally identifiable information (PII)

Use of Artificial Intelligence

The Application uses on-device Artificial Intelligence, including Apple's Foundation Models and locally downloaded models, to provide functionality such as text generation and language understanding.

All core AI processing, speech recognition, and speech synthesis occur locally on your device. Your conversations and documents are not transmitted off-device for AI processing.

Optional Features That Use the Network

The following features are optional and only transmit data when you choose to use them:

1. Web Search
When you enable and use web search, the text of your search query is sent to a third-party search provider (Tavily) to retrieve results and sources. This query may include any text you choose to search. Use of this feature is subject to Tavily's own privacy policy. You may also provide your own Tavily API key. If you do not use web search, no such data is sent.

2. Model Downloads
When you choose to download an on-device model, the Application connects to third-party model hosting providers (such as Hugging Face) to download the model files. These requests are standard network requests and do not include your conversations.

3. Duora Connect
If you enable Duora Connect, the Application sends conversation data over your local network to another device that you own and control (such as your Mac or iPad) so it can run larger models on your behalf. This data is exchanged directly between your own devices and is not sent to the Service Provider.

Aside from these optional features, no information leaves your device.

Third-Party Access

The Service Provider does not collect or sell your data. The only data sent to third parties is what is necessary to operate the optional features above (web search queries to Tavily, and download requests to model hosting providers). Their handling of that data is governed by their respective privacy policies.

Opt-Out Rights

The optional network features are off by default or used only on your explicit action. You can avoid all external data transmission by not using web search, not downloading additional models, and not enabling Duora Connect. You may stop using the Application at any time by uninstalling it.

Data Retention

The Service Provider does not collect or store user data, so no retention or deletion by the Service Provider is required. Data processed by third-party services (such as a web search query) is retained according to those providers' own policies.

Children's Privacy

The Application does not collect personal information from users, including children under the age of 13. If you believe a child may have provided personal information through an optional feature, please contact the Service Provider. The Application is intentionally designed to minimize any data leaving the device.

Security

Because core processing happens on-device and the Service Provider does not collect or transmit your data, risks related to data storage or transfer are inherently minimized. Data sent through optional features is transmitted over standard secure connections.

Changes to This Privacy Policy

This Privacy Policy may be updated from time to time. Any updates will be posted on this page. Continued use of the Application after changes constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
