This interactive microlearning course helps working professionals practice the art of saying “no” clearly, respectfully, and without guilt. Through realistic workplace scenarios, learners build self-awareness around their default response patterns and develop assertive communication skills that protect both their time and their relationships.
Instructional Designer: Defined learning goals, aligned activities with Bloom’s Taxonomy, and designed the learning flow using ADDIE + Backward Design.
Scriptwriter: Wrote scenario dialogue, voiceover scripts, and constructed response prompts tailored to workplace contexts.
Storyboard Developer: Created a detailed, screen-by-screen storyboard with scripting, interaction logic, variables, and triggers.
Visual & Interaction Direction: Established a minimalist sketch-style visual identity and determined appropriate interactions for each learning objective.
Storyline Developer: Built the course using Articulate Storyline 360 with custom triggers, conditions, variables, and slide-layer logic.
Office professionals, especially early-career employees or introverts who often struggle to say “no” in the workplace. They may feel obligated to agree to every request, worry about disappointing others, or fear being seen as uncooperative. Over time, this leads to stress, resentment, and burnout. This course helps them build the confidence and language to set boundaries with clarity and care.
By the end of this course, learners will be able to:
Identify common workplace situations where saying “no” is necessary.
Recognize their current response pattern when facing requests.
Differentiate between passive, assertive, and aggressive communication.
Practice crafting assertive responses in real-world scenarios.
Reflect on their own boundary-setting behaviors and areas for growth.
This course was designed using the ADDIE model, with a strong emphasis on Backward Design during the Design phase. The learning objectives were clearly defined based on real-world workplace challenges, and all content, interactions, and assessments were intentionally aligned to those objectives.
Each screen was storymapped and storyboarded to support specific learner behaviors — from self-reflection to classification, branching decisions, and written response. To support diverse learner needs and avoid cognitive overload, content was structured into a microlearning flow, with frequent feedback and adaptive paths.
Visually, the course followed a sketch-style, black-and-white theme to reduce distraction and focus attention on the conversations. Interactions were built using custom triggers, variables, conditional feedback, and optional AI-powered reflection, offering a highly personalized experience.
Design & Storyboarding: Miro, Google Docs.
Visual assets: Canva, Microsoft PowerPoint.
Development: Articulate Storyline 360, JavaScript.
Voiceover: AI text-to-speech (Clipcharm).
AI feedback: Groq AI API, Pipedream.
Code editor: VS Code.
Hosting: Netlify.
This project challenged me to go beyond surface-level interactivity and truly think about the emotional journey of the learner. I learned how to design branching paths that felt natural, how to scaffold self-awareness without judgment, and how to use variables not just for logic, but to create meaningful feedback moments.
It also pushed me to refine my visual restraint: simplifying layouts, using minimal visuals, and choosing typography and pacing that support reflection. One key takeaway was how important it is to design space for pause, discomfort, and insight, especially in topics that are emotionally nuanced, like boundary-setting.

Whether you're building a course from scratch or improving an existing one, I’d love to help you design learning experiences that truly work for your learners and your goals.
I help educators, course creators, and organizations turn their ideas into clear, engaging, and learner-centered digital experiences.
From storyboarding to editing, I craft learning videos that follow how people learn, with thoughtful pacing, meaningful visuals, and language that keeps learners engaged.
From content mapping to slide visuals, I design structured learning flows that guide learners step by step, making complex ideas easier to follow and remember.
I design activities that invite learners to participate, reflect, and apply. Real learning happens through doing and practice, not rote memorization.
An LMS should guide, not confuse. I help you turn your course materials into a structured, learner-friendly experience that supports the learning goals.
