This interactive learning experience is designed to encourage learners to actively think about and practice plastic waste reduction. It addresses the growing need for actionable environmental education in a personalized manner.
This project leverages the power of AI, integrated through Storyline 360 and Pipedream, to provide personalized and immediate feedback, making the learning journey more engaging and relevant to individual actions.
Learning Designer: Conceptualized the learning flow and interaction design, focusing on learner-centered engagement.
Prompt Engineer & Scriptwriter: Developed the core AI prompts and managed the conversational logic for Groq AI to deliver meaningful feedback.
E-learning Developer: Built the interactive module in Storyline 360.
Tool Integrator: Orchestrated the seamless integration between Storyline 360, Pipedream, and Groq AI, handling the technical setup and data flow.
This activity is ideal for environmentally conscious individuals, students, or general audiences who are beginning their journey in sustainable living and seeking practical ways to reduce plastic waste.
They are eager to contribute but might need personalized guidance and actionable suggestions to refine their strategies.
They appreciate immediate, supportive feedback that helps them feel capable and informed.
By the end of this project, learners will be able to:
Propose effective personal strategies for reducing plastic consumption.
Receive and interpret AI-driven feedback on their proposed strategies.
Identify potential areas for improvement and additional actions in their plastic waste reduction efforts.
My design approach for this project is rooted in the belief that learning should be both "Practical by Design" and "Engaging by Nature". Instead of simply presenting facts, I aimed to create a space where learners can experiment with their ideas and receive direct, constructive input.
Practical by Design: The core interaction focuses on action-oriented thinking. Learners aren't just memorizing; they are actively formulating solutions, which aligns with the principle that design should help learners act, not just remember. The AI feedback is designed to be clear and actionable, directly addressing the learner's input to help them genuinely progress.
Engaging by Nature: I believe good design is human-centered. The AI acts as a personal coach, creating a sense of close, natural interaction. This immediate, personalized feedback fosters curiosity and makes the learner feel, "Oh, this is for me!". It builds a connection between the learner's thoughts and expert advice through a dynamic, responsive interaction, rather than a static presentation.
The integration of AI was a conscious choice to move beyond traditional quiz formats, offering a deeper, more personalized learning experience that reflects the philosophy of designing how learners feel about themselves in the learning process.
E-learning Development: Articulate Storyline 360, JavaScript.
AI Integration Platform: Pipedream.
Artificial Intelligence Model: Groq AI (Llama3-8b-8192).
Design & Content: Canva, Gemini.
Code Editor: VS Code.
This project was a significant exploration into integrating cutting-edge AI technology into an e-learning module. I gained a deeper understanding of how serverless functions (via Pipedream) can bridge the gap between traditional e-learning authoring tools and advanced AI APIs.
The primary challenge was ensuring seamless data flow and robust error handling between Storyline's JavaScript triggers and the Pipedream workflow, especially regarding asynchronous operations and API key management.
This experience reinforced my belief that "Tools are merely tools; the design intention is what truly matters", as the technical hurdles ultimately served the larger goal of creating a truly personalized learning journey. I learned invaluable lessons in troubleshooting complex integrations and optimizing performance for a smooth user experience.
A quick look behind the scenes, where ideas take shape, decisions are made, and learning experiences begin to come to life.
Whether you're building a course from scratch or improving an existing one, I’d love to help you design learning experiences that truly work for your learners and your goals.
I help educators, course creators, and organizations turn their ideas into clear, engaging, and learner-centered digital experiences.
From storyboarding to editing, I craft learning videos that follow how people learn, with thoughtful pacing, meaningful visuals, and language that keeps learners engaged.
From content mapping to slide visuals, I design structured learning flows that guide learners step by step, making complex ideas easier to follow and remember.
I design activities that invite learners to participate, reflect, and apply. Real learning happens through doing and practice, not rote memorization.
An LMS should guide, not confuse. I help you turn your course materials into a structured, learner-friendly experience that supports the learning goals.
