About Duncan MacMillan

Duncan MacMillan’s sophomore album, “On Misadventure and Outrageous Fortune”, is a collection of songs written about and inspired by moments of lowdown heartbreak and high-flying victory. Sarcastic, witty, and heartfelt, it strives to tell a story reflecting the cyclical nature of things. Critics predict that it contains the song of the summer for at least one of the next two years. Streaming everywhere January 9th, 2026. 

Hailing from Winston Salem, NC, Duncan MacMillan is a folk singer/songwriter. He studied music and played in the bluegrass band at UNC Chapel Hill, and now writes and performs music drawing from bluegrass, old time, folk, and Americana. His debut album, “Young Man Waiting”, was written in 2020 and finally recorded four years later in 2024, when he began performing regularly with his original music.
