Overseer Dorethea Haywood, a devoted woman of God, served with her late husband, Bishop Colon Haywood St., at Faith Temple Deliverance Center Inc. in New Haven, CT. Originally from Asheville, NC, she attended Broun Temple A.M.E. church as a child and later Sycamore Temple C.O.G.I.C. before moving to Connecticut. With a background in Human Services from Springfield College and a Master's degree in Marriage and Family Therapy from Southern Connecticut State University, she effectively supports her church and the wider Christian community. Overseer Haywood is actively involved in various ministries, including Sunday School, Youth Department, and Christian Education. She has held leadership roles within the church and served as State Supervisor for the Nova Scotia/Maritimes COGIC Jurisdiction and Northeast Region Supervisor of Women for Deliverance Centers Inc. She also works as a marriage and family therapist and manages the H.O.P.E. Program at Yale New Haven Hospital, offering employment assistance to low-income residents. In 2022, she was consecrated as Overseer of the Northeastern Region of Deliverance Center Inc.
