The Department of Siberian Indigenous Languages at Tomsk State Pedagogical University is pleased to announce the 28th International Conference “Dulson Readings” to be held in Tomsk on July 27-28, 2017.
Following the success of previous events (25th Dulson Readings; 26th Dulson Readings) “28th Dulson Readings” commemorates the 70th anniversary of the establishment of comprehensive program of study of the indigenous languages and cultures of Siberia led by professor A.P. Dulson.
In 2017, the conference facilitates interaction among scholars in support of local typological research, paying special attention to the studies of language-internal and external factors in the evolution of languages and cultures, individually and in interaction. We especially welcome presentations of the current and perspective research projects in such areas as:
Theoretical framework, terminology and methodology of research as well as the scope and depth of the existing studies vary to a great extent. The “28th Dulson Readings” seeks to ensure the productive interaction of the theoretical approaches, methods and terminologies and to provide the extensive empirical data essential for the development of this research field.
