If you want bone conduction headphones for vlogging that keep your ears open to the world while recording, choose Dulailt True Bone Conduction; if need rechargeable ear clip headphones for vlogging that deliver rich, bass-forward sound with a modern Scandinavian aesthetic, choose Defunc True LITE II.
• Dulailt True Bone Conduction: Best for outdoor safety and awareness during active vlogging, but lacks deep bass and passive noise isolation.
• Defunc True LITE II: Delivers immersive, balanced audio with low latency for studio-quality clips, but blocks out ambient sound which can be risky in traffic.
• The Pick: Choose Dulailt if you vlog while running or cycling; pick Defunc if you vlog from cafes, streets, or indoor settings where sound quality matters most.
When I look at the specifications for the Dulailt True Bone Conduction, the design philosophy is immediately clear: this is a tool built for movement and safety. The defining feature here is the open-ear technology. Unlike traditional earbuds that seal off your auditory canal, these transmit sound directly through your cheekbones. This means you are not just hearing your content; you are hearing your environment. For anyone who records video while moving, this is non-negotiable. You cannot safely vlog on a busy sidewalk, a hiking trail, or a bike path if you cannot hear cars approaching or people calling out to you.
The physical construction reinforces this purpose. With an IPX4 waterproof rating, these are built to handle sweat and light rain without flinching. They are designed as a secure clip-on fit that stays locked in place even during vigorous activity like rock climbing or high-intensity interval training. If your vlogging style involves action sports, the 30-hour total playtime (6 hours on the buds plus 24 hours from the charging case) ensures you never run dry mid-shoot. The Bluetooth 5.3 connectivity offers fast pairing, which is crucial when you are trying to capture a moment quickly before it passes.

However, there is a trade-off you must accept with this design. Because the ear remains open, there is no passive noise cancellation. In a quiet room, this is fine, but in a noisy gym or a windy park, the audio might struggle to compete with the background clamor. Furthermore, the sound profile is inherently different; you will not get the thumping bass of a closed-back driver. This makes them less ideal for listening to heavy metal or electronic dance music, but perfect for podcasts, audiobooks, and clear voice calls while staying aware of your surroundings.
The Defunc True LITE II presents a completely different approach to audio gear. While the Dulailt focuses on safety and openness, the Defunc prioritizes immersion and sonic fidelity. These are semi-in-ear earbuds featuring a 13mm dynamic driver, which suggests a much richer frequency response than what bone conduction typically offers. If your vlogging requires you to monitor high-quality audio, check your own voice clarity, or enjoy a soundtrack with punchy bass, these are the superior choice. The "Scandinavian minimal design" isn't just marketing fluff; the lightweight build and ergonomic shape are engineered for long periods of wear without the fatigue that often comes with bulkier over-ear or heavy in-ear models.
What stands out most about the Defunc for a content creator is the combination of Bluetooth 6.0 and low-latency performance. In the world of video production, sync between audio and visual is everything. High latency creates a distracting lag where your lip movements don't match the sound you hear in your monitoring headphones. The Defunc promises low latency, making it far more suitable for real-time monitoring or quick cuts where timing is tight. Additionally, the ENC (Environmental Noise Cancellation) technology for calls ensures that when you speak into the mic, the wind or city noise is filtered out effectively, resulting in professional-sounding dialogue.
The battery life on the Defunc is rated at 20 hours total, which is slightly lower than the Dulailt's massive capacity, but still sufficient for a full day of shooting. The inclusion of an AI app support suggests a level of customization that allows you to tweak the EQ to suit your specific recording environment. However, because these sit in or near the ear canal, they do block out some external noise. This is great for focus but dangerous if you are vlogging in an area with moving vehicles or machinery. You lose the situational awareness that the bone conduction model provides.
• Best for outdoor safety and situational awareness → Dulailt True Bone Conduction. The open-ear design lets you hear traffic and surroundings while recording.
• Best for audio fidelity and bass response → Defunc True LITE II. The 13mm dynamic drivers provide a fuller, more immersive sound experience.
• Best for active sports vlogging → Dulailt True Bone Conduction. The secure clip-on fit and IPX4 rating make it ideal for running, cycling, and hiking.
• Best for low-latency monitoring and sync → Defunc True LITE II. Bluetooth 6.0 and low latency ensure your audio stays perfectly in time with your video.
• Best for call quality in noisy environments → Defunc True LITE II. The ENC feature actively filters background noise for clearer voice transmission.
• Best for extended battery life → Dulailt True Bone Conduction. With 30 hours total playtime, it outlasts the Defunc for all-day shoots.
• Best for stylish, minimalist aesthetics → Defunc True LITE II. The compact, blue design fits a modern lifestyle better than the sport-focused clip-on.
• Best for users with sensitive ear canals → Dulailt True Bone Conduction. Since nothing enters the ear, it eliminates pressure and discomfort for those who hate in-ear devices.
The ability to record audio while remaining fully aware of your surroundings is a safety feature that simply cannot be ignored when you are on the move. The 30-hour battery life is also a massive advantage for long days in the field. However, if I were vlogging primarily indoors or in controlled urban environments where sound quality and bass are paramount, I would switch to the Defunc True LITE II. Its low-latency connection and superior driver size make it the better choice for critical listening. Ultimately, for the specific intent of vlogging on the go, the safety and endurance of the Dulailt edge out the sonic richness of the Defunc.
Yes, specifically for outdoor vlogging. They allow you to hear your surroundings while recording, ensuring safety and capturing natural ambient sounds that sealed earbuds might miss.
They feature Passive Noise Cancellation due to their semi-in-ear fit and ENC for calls, but they do not offer active noise cancellation for the music playback itself.
The Dulailt True Bone Conduction wins with a 30-hour total playtime compared to the Defunc True LITE II's 20-hour total, giving you more runtime for extended projects.
Both have built-in microphones, but the Defunc True LITE II uses ENC technology to filter background noise, likely offering cleaner voice recordings in windy or loud areas.
