Dukaan AI ("we", "our", or "the App") is developed to provide shopkeepers, retail merchants, and small business owners with a smart, secure, and offline-first digital business assistant, including digital billing, customer Khata ledger, AI voice entry, OCR invoice scanning, inventory tracking, and cloud data backup.
This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, store, protect, and handle your personal and store business data when you use the Dukaan AI mobile application.
We only collect information necessary to provide and manage store billing and bookkeeping services:
A. Account & Authentication Information
Mobile Number: Required during onboarding and shop setup for store contact identification, invoice generation, customer SMS/receipt sharing, and secure OTP verification.
Google Account Details: When using Google Sign-In, we receive your name, email address, and authentication token via Google Credential Manager.
Email & Password: If you choose email authentication.
Store Pairing Code: Generated securely to connect authorized helper/staff devices to your shop.
B. Shop & Business Profile
Shop Name, Owner Name, Business Address, and Business Category.
Contact Phone Number (printed on invoices and customer statements).
Payment Details: UPI ID, QR code string, Bank Account details, and GSTIN (optional).
Store signature image (stored locally on your device for invoice signing).
C. Customer, Ledger & Transaction Data
Customer names, phone numbers, and addresses.
Khata ledger records (credit/Udhar, payment received/Jama, payment dates, and transaction notes).
Invoices, sales bills, purchase records, item prices, discounts, and inventory stock counts.
D. Device & Media Permissions
Camera / Images: Used solely to scan purchase bills via Google ML Kit document scanner, capture bill photos, or select store signature images.
Microphone / Audio: Used solely when you tap the microphone button for AI voice billing transcription. Audio recordings are processed for text conversion and are never permanently recorded, stored, or shared.
Contacts (Optional): Used only if you choose to pick a customer’s phone number directly from your phone address book.
Notifications: Used to deliver due-date payment reminders and backup sync status.
Dukaan AI is completely ad-free. We do not use Google AdMob or any third-party ad networks, trackers, or commercial advertising SDKs. We do not sell, monetize, or rent your personal or business data to advertisers.
Your information is used strictly to:
Generate, print, and share GST/non-GST customer invoices and digital receipts.
Maintain your store’s digital Khata book and calculate outstanding customer balances.
Transcribe spoken billing items into line-item invoices using AI assistance (Google Gemini AI).
Extract line items from wholesaler paper bills using OCR scanning (Google ML Kit).
Synchronize records across linked helper devices (when authorized with your store pairing code).
Provide secure local and cloud backup/restore services (via Supabase).
Local Storage (Default): Dukaan AI is built as an offline-first application. All your customer ledgers, bills, products, and daily accounts are stored locally on your device in an encrypted SQLite database.
Cloud Backup & Auto-Sync (Optional): If you sign in and enable Auto-Sync or tap Backup to Cloud, your encrypted backup archive is securely transmitted and stored in our cloud infrastructure powered by Supabase (hosted with Row Level Security).
Local Export: You can export your full database and bill receipts as a .zip archive to your device storage at any time.

You have complete control over your business data at all times:
A. Permanent In-App Account & Data Deletion
You can permanently delete your account and all associated records directly inside the app:
Open Settings in Dukaan AI.
Scroll to the Legal section.
Tap Delete Account & Data.
Confirm by tapping Permanently Delete Everything.
What happens upon deletion:
All local customer ledgers, bills, daily Khata entries, and inventory records are permanently wiped from the device.
All cloud backup archives and database records stored on Supabase servers are permanently deleted.
Store pairing codes and helper device connections are immediately revoked.
You are signed out and the application resets to the initial setup screen.

We implement industry-standard safeguards:
Application Lock support (PIN and Fingerprint / Biometric authentication).
Secure HTTPS / TLS encryption for all data transmitted between your device and cloud servers.
Row-Level Security (RLS) on cloud databases ensuring only your authenticated account can access your store backups.
Dukaan AI is designed for commercial shop management and business owners. The App is not directed to individuals under the age of 18, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children.
