I don't know if anyone else has this problem or it might be just me. i use my ipad air 3rd gen as a second monitor on my windows 10 laptop. all versions are up to date (both software and hardware) and it was working just fine until today when the screen on the second monitor looked smaller (borders at the top and bottom of the screen). I check the app on the desktop, it only shows two options "Regular resolution" and "High Resolution" instead of the usual resolutions recommended on the app which doesn't change the resolution on the second display at all. Here is a picture for reference

What's odd that it's on this iPad only that shows this because I checked with my phone it seems fine. I already contacted tech support from duet but it might take a while to get a response. Hope someone has a fix for this!

I got an app called duet display and I've been using Photoshop with my Ipad Pro and my Apple pencil, however this morning as I'm trying to draw in a new document it's not showing. The pencil is paired, by using the pencil I can select and deselect everything, but it just won't draw. I have been looking for a solution for this issue and haven't been successful. Please help, it's for an assignment for school. TIA

I use duet display current from windows to ipad and use Wacom as drawing tablet. the duet display is good but it lags only feeding 60fps anything faster and better? I tried spacedesk and xdisplay already

Hi there. hopefully someone has the answer. I have set up my iPad as a second windows monitor using duet display, installed the desktop version of air manager and am using the G1000 overlay for the PFD which I have popped out of MSFS 2020. However only the mouse currently works despite the input being set to touch and mouse on air manager software. Have I missed something?

Hi there, I have a 3 monitor Pc for gaming. I tried to use the Duet with my ipad as a 4th monitor to put a dash for my racing game. Before running the game all looks ok but as soon as I run the game the monitors (the 3 on the pc and the ipad) goes black and can not do anything.

Anyone can help me with this?

Thanks

I have been using my iPad pro as a portable second screen for my macbook and it works great. I especially like to to position the iPad in landscape mode to make reading documents easier (the UAG case is awesome btw). Sometimes starting duet display can take a few seconds, but when it connects there is very little lag. Is there a way to connect a second iPad pro to my laptop to have 3 screens on the go? I often work remotely and would love to maximize desktop space.

Hreich Spacedesk is another duet option that allows muliple ios device, its a bit laggy on wifi but with the ipad linked to PC on a lightning cable and the phone on wifi its great.. obviously need to use in conjuction with Helios

I recently heard about duet, the app for iOS that allows an iPad or iPhone to be used as an extra display for macs -- and decided to give it a try. Plus, it would be nice to be able to re-purpose an old iPad for use as a second display.

Installing Duet Display is a two stage process. First the app needs installed on an iPad or iPhone, and a second app (also called duet) is required on the Mac to act as a video driver for the iOS device.

Next, extract duet.app from the downloaded zip file and drag it to your Applications folder. Then open it as you would any other Mac application. After duet starts running, an icon appears on the top toolbar.

Before connecting an iPad to your Mac, start the duet iOS app, it should display a "Connect to Mac" message, followed by "Launching Duet" when plugged in the mac. Your mac will then "find" the second iPad screen.

To run duet through its paces, I decided to open various applications and move their windows back and forth between my normal Mac screen and iPad "screen." This usually worked OK; most of the time the app window would "plop" into place fine if quickly moved to the iPad screen. Scrolling, such as in a browser window, usually was fast and responsive with little or no lag.

I can definitively say that duet is by no means a polished application. I found many quirks during testing. Testing duet gave me the impression that it was rushed to market in order to make it on the App Store for the holiday shopping season, released too early before all of its bugs were ironed out.

Most of the bugs I encountered with duet occurred when an app window "spanned" across mac and iPad screens. The screenshot below was taken on my iPad, after I positioned a Chrome browser window across the two screens.

If you have a mac with a DVD player, then duet will likely disappoint. I tested three different DVD movies and could see only a gray video window using DVD Player on both mac and iPad screens. After I disconnected the iPad, I was again able to view movie content of each DVD on the mac screen with no issues.

Not all about duet is bad, there are situations in which it can be handy. For instance, I tested a scenario using Dash to scroll through programming documentation on the iPad screen and running XCode, with its window in the larger mac screen:

In theory if you had the right licences you could effectively run your magic sheet on the ipad - I've done that with nomads, so if that's set to act as a secondary to the ion you could control the Ion from the magic sheet on the ipad. ff782bc1db
