The expected impact on teaching, learning and assessment would be as follows:
- To allow the children to become active in their own learning, using digital platforms for the presentation of their work.
- To enable the children to use individual ePortfolios to catalogue their work.
- To assist the children in building and using their ePortfolios as a means of assessing the progress they have made over the duration of the project.
- To support children to develop their oral language skills and to enable them to progress at their own learning pace, through the use of digital media.
- To recognise the wide variation in experiences, ability and language style which children bring to language learning in school as a first step in enabling them to engage in relevant and meaningful communicative relationships.
- To encourage and enable children to communicate effectively in both the first and second language of the school and to communicate in their heritage language for a variety of purposes.
- To incorporate the use of applications such as Espresso Coding, Seesaw, Khan Academy, I can Animate, Book Creator and other digital learning programmes in the course of the project.
- To utilise feedback from students and teachers in the relevant class groupings to create a draft whole school language policy, for eventual expected roll out school wide.
