WHILE IN HIGH SCHOOL (early 1970's)...
mowed lawns at a trailer park
did part-time farm labor in a local florist shop
did part-time farm labor picking cherries near Lake Ontario
WHILE AN UNDERGRAD (mid 1970's)...
worked the late-night shift a couple of summers at a Ragu spaghetti sauce factory
worked one summer on the "aerosol" product production line in an A&P factory, making hair-spray, deoderant, bug killer, shaving cream and air freshener...also worked at the end of the production line stacking lots and lots of heavy boxes onto wooden palettes
played bass in a pretty good rock band ("Wyatt") that had gigs all over western New York...also occasionally filled in on bass for a local jazz band
sat in on bass for several months for a really bad (but locally successful) Country-and-Western band ("Country Hobos") that played in some extremely seedy establishments in western New York (their regular bassist was in jail for trying to rob a gas station)
worked part-time at the Brockport College library, mostly shelving books
had a brief part-time stint at a pizza restaurant doing both cooking and deliveries
worked one summer as a Pinkerton night watchman at an apartment complex
WHILE A GRAD STUDENT (late 1970's)...
worked part-time at the National Technical Institute for the Deaf as a consultant on experimental design and statistical analysis
was an intern in the Human Factors Department at Eastman Kodak, assisting with experimental design, software engineering and data analysis
taught undergrad courses at the University of Rochester Department of Psychology (one semester of "Statistics", two semesters of "Sensation and Perception", one semester of "Cognitive Psychology")
