Financial Analysis Documentation and Presentations, Dr. Howard Bunsis
In Fall of 2024, the University of Denver chapter of AAUP received funding from National AAUP which was used in part to compensate Dr. Howard Bunsis, higher education finance expert, to conduct a financial analysis of the University of Denver's financial position based on publicly available data from these sources: iPEDS (Integrated Postsecondary Data System), IRS 990 forms, which are available from 2011 on through ProPublica's Nonprofit Tax Explorer site, as well as the Common Data Set, audited financial reports, Institutional Data (DU Factbook), Bureau of Labor and Statistics, AAUP Compensation Surveys, and several other public higher education data sets.
Dr. Bunsis presented on his initial findings on April 17, 2025, and then presented his final findings on June 4, 2025. Both presentations and all prepared documents are below.
