Dtube

Final edit 12/19/2020: After almost 2 years, I came back. Some of this is still true today. But I had seen dtube actually do something in response to a lot of issues people have. Uploading is not as glitchy, you have upload options that are easier to understand, you are told how to keep your videos up forever, among many other things. DTube has a very complex platform, which is why many of these issues still persists, and even today I see people getting frustrated at the platform. I encourage people to read this !/wiki/faq/README and to fork dtube's github (the entire thing) and try to add more questions and make these easier to understand. It is very easy and you don't need any coding acknowledge. If you are not familiar with github, you can ask anyone for directions on how to offer a hand to projects such as dtube. After you are done with your changes, you can do a pull request so they can be merged with the site

Guys, I am out. This site has failed to meet basic expectations for a video streaming platform. You can't upload properly, comments are basically going to be all bots, follow4follow, or nothing, no one is even going to find the video or see that it exists, and so on. As a viewer it's impossible for me to use the site too, everything is just not interesting on this site. If you are looking for a youtube alternative, there's bitchute and facebook. Flixxo is another one but it still is a work in progress and I had been experiencing some bugs with it too (but they are forgiven, why? BECAUSE THEY ARE FUCKING HONEST. dtube gave me a bunch of fake promises and I think it's sketchy how hard it is to find anybody saying anything about these)

Edit3: I still think DTube is evil(well, more like unethical), 9/29/2020. Well, steemit. They had improved the search, I think. The reason I think DTube and Steemit is evil today is because I am just convinced that they had manipulated search results and stuff in order to promote themselves and also hinder people mentioning flaws about the service (This is where most of my frustration came from). I really dislike how all trending videos are only about dtube and crypto too, they must be manipulated and bias today too. Should they perish? Maybe, I am a lot happier with the alternatives, but I can't say they are not providing something or that work hasn't been put into it. I can only say that the people behind it, may be good people, but they are very unethical and manipulative.

I think I did a good job by mentioning the flaws, but this was not dedicated and solely made for the flaws, and most people won't find this, steemit and dtube should do this instead. These limitations they had intentionally put into their service have to be mentioned, it's scummy and selfish they haven't just to save face. Also, StoryFire is also bad, made by McJuggerNuggets to treat creators the way they should be treated, but I believe he has ulterior motives (not completely sure). Use it if you want, but don't expect it to be different from youtube.
