About Me

Dr. Dana Teague has dedicated her career to advancing inclusive education, instructional excellence, and teacher development. Since beginning her career in education in 2007, she has served in a variety of instructional and leadership roles that have provided her with extensive experience supporting students, educators, and school systems.

Dr. Teague began her career as a special education teacher in the Swedesboro-Woolwich School District in South Jersey, where she taught students in Grades 3 through 5 in resource room, self-contained, ABA, and inclusive classroom settings. These experiences strengthened her passion for ensuring that all students have equitable access to high-quality instruction while developing her expertise in differentiated instruction, inclusive practices, and the Response to Intervention (RtI)/Multi-Tiered System of Supports (MTSS) framework. As Chair of her school's Intervention and Referral Services (I&RS) Team, she coached teachers, collaborated with families, and facilitated professional learning focused on academic and behavioral interventions designed to support diverse learners within the general education classroom.

Her passion for instructional leadership led her to become an Instructional Facilitator in the Swedesboro-Woolwich School District, where she currently continues to serve in a part-time capacity. Working across a PreK-6 school district, Dr. Teague partners with administrators and teachers to provide instructional coaching, curriculum development, professional learning, data analysis, and strategic planning. She has led district initiatives focused on data-driven instruction, curriculum alignment, assessment practices, teacher evaluation, and school improvement while helping educators implement research-based instructional strategies that positively impact student achievement.

Dr. Teague currently serves as a Full-Time Assistant Professor at Rowan College of South Jersey (RCSJ), where she teaches primarily second- and third-year courses within the innovative 3+1 Inclusive Education Program in partnership with Rowan University. In this role, she prepares future educators through coursework emphasizing inclusive instructional practices, classroom management, literacy, assessment, and evidence-based teaching strategies while collaborating with Rowan University faculty to ensure a seamless transition into students' senior year and clinical experiences.

Committed to preparing highly effective future teachers, Dr. Teague recently earned her Doctorate in Education (Ed.D.) from Wilmington University. Her dissertation research focused on improving systems within higher education to better prepare preservice teachers for the realities and demands of today's classrooms. Her research explored ways colleges and universities can strengthen communication, partnerships, experiential learning, and student support systems to increase teacher preparedness and retention in educator preparation programs.

In addition to her work at RCSJ and in public education, Dr. Teague has served as an Adjunct Professor at Rowan University's College of Education since 2016, teaching courses within the Department of Language, Literacy, and Sociocultural Education. She earned a Master of Arts in Reading and Reading Specialist Certification in 2015, followed by a second master's degree in School Administration from Rowan University in 2018.

Throughout her career, Dr. Teague has remained actively involved in professional leadership beyond her classrooms. She currently serves as Chair of the South Jersey Elementary Curriculum Group, collaborating with curriculum leaders from districts throughout South Jersey to share best practices, analyze educational initiatives, and support regional curriculum development. She also serves on numerous district, county, and higher education committees dedicated to improving curriculum, instruction, teacher development, and student success. Previously, she was selected to serve on the New Jersey Department of Education's Division of Teaching and Learning Council, where she collaborated with educational leaders to review state initiatives, analyze proposed mandates, and provide feedback on educational policies before implementation.

Outside of education, Dr. Teague is an avid dancer, choreographer, and musical theater enthusiast. She enjoys sharing her love of the performing arts through local theater productions and dance instruction while encouraging her two sons to pursue their own passions in dance, music, and theater.

Whether partnering with school districts, mentoring educators, or preparing the next generation of teachers, Dr. Teague is committed to helping educators build meaningful, inclusive learning environments where both students and teachers can thrive. She is passionate about providing customized consulting, coaching, and professional learning experiences that empower educators and strengthen educational systems throughout New Jersey and beyond.
