DSU Teach Camp (formerly DSU STEAM Camp) began in 2016 with funding from an EPSCoR grant. Originally, it was a one-day professional development workshop held on the DSU campus, attracting 100-140 attendees annually. Due to the grant, sessions primarily focused on STEAM topics.
In 2019, with the grant ending and the challenges of COVID emerging, we had to adapt. In 2020, we rebranded the event as DSU Teach Camp, expanding its focus beyond STEAM to include all areas of teaching. That year, 444 teachers registered, and the event was held virtually via Zoom. Since then, we have continued offering a similar event each year.
