Syed Nasirin - Ph. D

Syed Nasirin, Ph. D, is an Associate Professor in IS at Universiti Malaysia Sabah. His research focuses on DSS implementation and discrete-event simulations (DES), and he has been involved with many DSS implementation and simulation projects in developing countries and the U.K. He graduated from the University of Bath with a Ph. D in Information Systems and was a faculty member at Universiti Sains Malaysia (1994-2001), Thames Valley University (2001-2005) and Brunel University (2005-2011) before taking up his current position. In 2008, Dr Nasirin was awarded the prestigious Brunel Research Fellowship Award from Brunel University for his research in system implementation. At present, he is leading a Breast Cancer Clinical DSS research project involving all the district hospitals in the State of Sabah with the Queen Elizabeth II Hospital in Kota Kinabalu.
