Our incredible curriculum and offerings haven't changed, but the name has! Our goal in changing our beloved department's name was to provide more clarity about what we offer and to highlight the superstar space of our department; our beautiful wet darkroom and alternative process space. Look out for new and upcoming releases of student-designed D.A.P. swag at one of our future shows!

On January 18, 2024, the Gym at A.W. Dreyfoos School of the Arts played host to over 40 colleges (both national and international!) for our annual DSOA Portfolio Day. 30 of our seniors set up miniature galleries around the perimeter of the gym and many more students walked around with their work, speaking with the college representatives, gaining insight, discussing their artwork, and learning a LOT. We are so proud of our students and very grateful to the parent volunteers, faculty, staff, and administration for working so hard to make this event possible!
We need your help raising the funds to provide hospitality (a light breakfast and a nice lunch) for the college representatives attending our annual Visual & Digital Portfolio Review Day on Wednesday, January 17th 2024. Each year, in January around 50+ college representatives from schools around the country (and world) come to meet with OUR amazing Visual Arts and Digital Media student artists. They do portfolio reviews and talk to our students about the opportunities at their schools, whether for summer opportunities or post-high school degree tracks. This event is invaluable and is our own little private Dreyfoos Portfolio Day event. We are lucky to be able to host it.
Please donate what you are able towards this cause and enable us to host this awesome event for our 10th-12th graders. If every family donates a little, we will be able to easily reach our goal!
We thank everyone for their help in making this event a success year after year.
THE BFA PHOTOGRAPHY AND VIDEO DEPARTMENT at the School of Visual Arts is excited to announce the winners of our national contest. With an aim to give voice to up-and-coming creative talents in photography and video, We The Place showcases a wide range of perspectives that explore issues around identity as it relates to location.
