Summary: There are two types of changes in matter: Physical Changes and Chemical Changes. Physical Changes are often when states of matter changes, but does not remove or form new substances. This change can also be reversible and does not absorb or release energy. Molecules don't break apart or rearrange, instead spacing of the molecules changes. Chemical Changes occur when new substances are formed and when molecules are separated, rearranged into new molecules. This change is difficult to reverse and energy can be absorbed and released. It can also be identified from it's color, odor, texture, release of gas, or changes of temperature and state.
