Examinations: One Unit Tests of 20 marks, Mid Term Test of 20 Marks and End Semester examination of 60 Marks
Design:
Term Work, Grading Policy: Based on Class Attendance, Assignments, Homework, Mini Projects, and Laboratory performance.
Course Objective:
The objective of the course is:
To develop an understanding of modern network architectures from a design and performance perspective.
To introduce the student to the major concepts involved in local area networks (LANs), wide-area networks (WANs), and Wireless LANs (WLANs).
To introduce cloud computing and different services offered through cloud computing.
Course Outcome:
By the end of the course, students will be able to:
CO 1. Describe the terminology and concepts of the OSI reference model and the TCP‐IP reference model.
CO 2. Explain the concepts of protocols, network interfaces, and design/performance issues in local area networks and wide area networks.
CO 3. Use the network tools and configure the network.
CO 4. Configure DNS, File Transfer Protocol (FTP), WWW, HTTP, Wi-Fi using open source software and tools.
CO 5. Explain fundamental concepts of cloud computing and services of cloud computing.
