We are Down Syndrome Families of the Midlands! We informally began in the summer of 2023, held our first gathering just a few months later at Saluda Shoals Park to celebrate Down Syndrome Awareness Month, and then officially received our nonprofit status in December of that same year. We have continued to grow since that time and are so thankful to all who have joined un on this journey.
We unite, empower, and celebrate those with Down syndrome and their loved ones in our community. Through advocacy, education, and regular opportunities to gather, we strive to break down barriers, promote acceptance, and celebrate the unique contributions of every person with Down syndrome! We are led by a volunteer-run, five-member Board of Directors.
