DIRECTOR OF LEARNING, LEADERSHIP & CREATIVE ARTS
Dream boldly. Serve fully. Lead with purpose.
Sterling serves as an Instructional Coach, Mentor Teacher, and Federal Programs Director in the Fruitland School District, a Musical Theater teacher at Fruitland High School, and an adjunct faculty member at Treasure Valley Community College. His work spans classroom instruction, district leadership, and professional development—supporting educators through coaching, workshops, and systems-level implementation. At his core, he is both a visionary and a servant leader—someone who dreams boldly while remaining deeply committed to the people and communities he serves.
As a mentor and instructional leader, Sterling works alongside teachers and organizations to build capacity, strengthen instructional practices, and create sustainable systems that support student success. He regularly designs and facilitates professional development in areas such as instructional strategies, classroom management, resilience, and program implementation. His approach is grounded in practicality, collaboration, and a deep understanding of the day-to-day realities educators face. In addition to his work in schools, Sterling provides consulting and training support to educational institutions, arts programs, and community organizations seeking to grow their impact.
A resident of Weiser for over a decade, Sterling has developed a deep appreciation for the town he proudly calls home. His commitment to community extends beyond education through his service as a city councilman, where he contributed to local initiatives and civic leadership. He is also the owner and operator of Re.Theater and Sterling Shaved Ice—ventures that reflect his passion for creativity, entrepreneurship, and community engagement. He previously founded and operated the Metropole Café, recognized as the Best Coffee House in the Western Treasure Valley in 2023.
Sterling is a dedicated advocate for the arts and is frequently involved in theatrical productions in a variety of capacities, including direction, design, performance, and technical production. His breadth of experience makes him a trusted resource for schools and organizations seeking guidance in developing high-quality arts programs and productions.
At his heart, Sterling is driven by a commitment to service. He values strong relationships, meaningful collaboration, and the opportunity to contribute to something larger than himself. While naturally introverted, he is equally comfortable leading from the front—facilitating learning, engaging audiences, and inspiring growth across classrooms, organizations, and communities.
