Experience

I'm currently working part-time at Milmoh S.L., where I am a Data Analyst. I work with Power BI and Tableau as well as with SQL to produce reports and dashboards for clients worldwide. Between February and April 2022, I was a Research Intern in the Direction of Research and Studies of the Ecuadorian Companies', Securities and Insurance Superintendency (SCVS), under the direction of economists Norma Burbano and Segundo Camino-Mogro. There, I was able to support the Direction of Research and Studies in several tasks, and I was also able to produce a research paper which was later accepted for publication to to the SCVS' academic journal: X-Pedientes Económicos. This journal was also recently indexed by RePEc.

Apart from my research and teaching experience, I have worked as a Finance Intern in Banco de la Producción S.A. (2018), one of the largest financial institutions in Ecuador. I worked with income statement high-frequency data to produce BI analytics with dashboards and reports in Microsoft Excel. In 2017, I worked as an accounting intern in Baker Tilly Ecuador, a top 10 Auditing & Consulting Firm.

Awards

Multiple times I've been awarded with the Chancellor and Dean's List awards in USFQ, which go to students who achieve a semester grade point average (GPA) of over 3.5 and 3.7 out of 4.

I graduated with the Magna Cum Laude honor from the Economics BA program at USFQ. Upon graduation, my undergraduate thesis was awarded best Fall 2021 undergraduate thesis by the School of Economics. I will also graduate Magna Cum Laude from the Finance BA program.

In 2019 I was selected for a Room & Board Waiver Award for an exchange year in Michigan State University (East Lansing, USA) in academic year 2019-2020. The award was given to the strongest USFQ applicants in basis of GPA, personal statement and TOEFL scores.

Skills

I'm proficient with R, LaTeX and Microsoft Office.

I have intermediate level knowledge of Minitab and Stata, as well as Power BI, Tableau and PostgreSQL. I have also basic knowledge in Python and Git. I work well with the Sublime Text, VS Code, RStudio and Spyder IDEs.

I'm a Spanish native speaker, with very advanced knowledge of English.

Others

I was a member of ECEL Research Group in USFQ from January to November 2021. There, I taught an introductory LaTeX course.

In September 2020, I spoke with my USFQ professors at a local radio station program about a recent corruption scandal in the country and the specific implications of a journal article's empirical findings about corruption.

In 2019 I was a volunteer for the Ángeles de Guadalupe Foundation, helping young and special needs children with their daily preschool education.

In 2016, I attended ILSC Vancouver for a certification in advanced academic english.
