Grading

  • Research Paper Summaries (R2 - R7): 20%

  • Class Participation/Engagement: 10%

  • Research Paper Presentation (Group): 10%

  • Project: 60%

    • P1 (5%): Open Problems in ConditionX (week 2)

    • P2 (6%): Exploratory & Initial Analysis (~week 4)

    • P3 (9%): Introduction & Related Work sections (~week 5)

    • P4 (10%): Method & Initial Results (~week 7)

    • P5 (30%): Final Presentation & Final Paper (week 9)

House Rules

  1. Only take this course if you are genuinely interested in the topic.

  2. Show up in class. Show up ready to learn and engage.

  3. No late submissions... PLAN accordingly!

  4. Use the general channel on slack for all (almost all) class-related communication/questions:

    • If the comment can be relevant to at least 1 other student, then use slack.

    • You will get fastest response from asking/commenting on the general channel.

    • Feel free to respond to questions/comments from classmates. This is HIGHLY encouraged.

    • Share relevant resources that you find with the class via slack.

  5. Email is only acceptable for non-urgent personal/private communications.

    • Responses will not be prompt so please be patient.

  6. Final grades in the course will be commensurate to your contribution to the term project.

    • Contribute meaningfully and substantially to your course project

    • It is not acceptable to contribute minimally because you are part of a group

  7. Ask questions if anything is unclear!
