I am Dr. Yohannes B. Bekele, an Assistant Professor of Electrical and Computer Engineering at Hampton University, where I lead the Cyber-Physical Systems Security Research Laboratory. My work spans the intersection of cybersecurity, embedded systems, hardware reliability, and edge computing, with a particular focus on building secure, resilient, and scalable solutions for modern cyber-physical and IoT systems.
My research explores topics such as:
Cyber-physical systems and embedded security
Hardware and microarchitecture vulnerabilities
Fault injection, reliability analysis, and system emulation
AI/ML for cybersecurity and intrusion detection
Edge devices, microcontrollers, and high-performance computing
STEM and engineering education innovation
I am actively engaged in scholarly research, external funding efforts, and mentoring undergraduate and graduate students through hands-on projects, publications, and testbed development initiatives. Across this site, you will find information about my research projects, publications, teaching activities, sponsored programs, and student opportunities.
