Samuel JohnsonMuhammad Waqas Rehan has been working at the University of Lübeck for more than five years as a Scientific Staff member, initially at the Institute of Telematics (ITM) and currently at the Institute for Software Engineering and Programming Languages (ISP). He got his PhD in Computer Engineering (with great distinction) from University of Lübeck, Germany. Previously, he received his M.S. in Electronic Engineering (with highest honor) from International Islamic University, Islamabad, Pakistan. He also obtained M.Sc. in Computer Science from Quaid-i-Azam University, Islamabad, Pakistan. Throughout his academic career, he secured various merit scholarships, culminating in highly competitive and prestigious Ph.D. scholarship under the auspices of DAAD.
Recently, Dr.-Ing. Rehan led the multidisciplinary healthcare project https://app.infektionen.sh/ IKAPP as Project Leader. The project collects data from kindergartens and schools in Lübeck to track absenteeism and sickness trends among students and staff, aiding in infectious disease control. Dr.-Ing. Rehan has been a reviewer of numerous prestigious conferences and journals. Based on his contributions to the peer review process, he is awarded certificates of outstanding reviewer by the Computer Networks (Elsevier) and Sensors and Actuators A: Physical (Elsevier). He is also a member of Internet Society (ISOC).
Dr.-Ing. Rehan has contributed numerous articles to location-management in VANETs, channel estimation and QoS in stream-based multichannel WSNs. His research interests include Digital Twin, AI/ML, blockchain-enabled networks, fog/edge computing, and their applications in smart cities, smart grids, and IoT/IoV.
