I am Dr. Venkatesan Meyyappan, an accomplished professional with over 24 years of expertise in Automotive, Marine, Mechanical, and Aeronautical Engineering. Currently, I serve as a Technical Leader at a prestigious Global Automotive Research Centre in Chennai, specializing in vehicle testing and evaluation of ICE and EV (BOV) platforms across 2W (L1, L2 & L3), 3W (L5M & L5N), CEV, Agricultural Tractor, M3, N1, N3, N3G and Retrofitted vehicle categories in proving grounds.
My specialization lies in Thermal Engineering, Homologation, Vehicle Testing and Validation, Data Analysis and Compliance Reporting for Standards and Regulations like CMVR. I have conducted and led comprehensive testing including Weighment, Speedometer calibration, Max speed evaluation, Gradeability, Noise tests, DRIVER PERCEIVED NOISE LEVEL (Operator Ear Level Noise), Permissible Sound Level at Bystander of Agricultural Tractors (Pass By-Noise), Occupant safety verification, TCD & TCCD, Maneuverability, Steering Effort, Coast down and Internal functional audits across proving grounds.
Parallel to my industry achievements, I bring rich academic leadership experience as Director, Principal, and Professor, having shaped institutions of national and international repute. I have mentored 19 undergraduate and 6 postgraduate students, published 23 research papers, and served as Chief Editor, Reviewer, and Editorial Board Member for reputed journals.
